Prof. Sreekala M Nair

Sreekala M. Nair Professor, Department of Philosophy, Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady, Kerala. She has served this University in various capacities, both academic and administrative since the time of its inception. Formerly worked as Professor at the School of Buddhist Studies at Nalanda University. She has held prestigious positions like Member, Indian Council of Philosophical Research, New Delhi; Joint Secretary, Indian philosophical congress; Member, NAAC Peer team; Member of Board of Studies, Faculty and Academic council of various Universities among others. Some of the honours / awards she received are, first Rank and Gold medal for M.A Philosophy in Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, A.P, 1988, ICPR Young Scholar Award in the National Level competition in 1992, Best state Coordinator award of Bharatiya Mahila Darshanika Parishad, 2007, Sastri Indo – Canadian Fellowship awarded by Sastri Indo Canadian Institute, 2012 and the Best paper award in the 4th Annual International Conference of PYTT held in Singapore in 2016. She has authored a book titled, Analysis of Knowledge: Classical and Contemporary Approaches (Progressive Books, Chennai), co-edited two other volumes and has published over 60 research papers. Four research projects were undertaken by her, and has produced 8 Ph.Ds and 46 M.Phils.

She has participated and presented papers in over 200 Seminars / Conferences / Workshops and also delivered several lectures in Educational institutions across the globe. More than thirty academic Seminars / Conferences / Workshops / Lecture Programs were organized by her in India. Dr. Nair has visited several foreign countries like Canada, USA, Greece, Singapore, Malaysia, and China to deliver academic talks / present papers in conferences. Her areas of primary scholarly interest are Contemporary Epistemological Issues, Buddhist Philosophy, Philosophy of Religion, Indian Philosophy of Language, Contemporary Analytic Metaphysics, Consciousness Studies (Indian), Cultural Studies (Indian), and Indian Aesthetics.
